Acne is a chronic skin disease affecting predominantly younger people caused by excessive sebum secretion and blockage of the sebaceous glands, followed by inflammation. Statistically, 80% of the population between the ages 12−25 and 30% of over 25-year-olds suffer from acne. The severity of acne can vary. Usually, the following types are distinguished: non-inflammatory or comedones (black spots) and inflammatory or the appearance of papules, pustules. The more severe forms of acne are nodulocystic acne, cystic acne and hidradenitis. Standard treatment includes antibiotics administered both orally and topically, oral contraceptives, and various cosmetic products. At our clinic, we do acne treatment with Harmony XL, the newest system of the company Alma Lasers (Israel).
