Facial contouting with fillers
Fillers effectively smooth fine lines, enhance facial contours, and help achieve a more youthful look – without surgery! They can also be used to correct minor imperfections, add volume to the lips, reshape the nose or cheekbones, and reduce under-eye bags.
How do fillers work?
As the name suggests, fillers are injectable treatments. A gel-like substance — either naturally derived or synthetic — is injected under the skin using a fine needle.
Filler gels are completely safe. They contain hyaluronic acid, which binds water and helps maintain the skin’s elasticity.
Thanks to their smooth, gel consistency, fillers create a soft cushion beneath the skin. This fills in wrinkle lines and adds natural-looking volume to specific facial areas.
The effect gradually fades as the body naturally breaks down and eliminates the filler.

Filling deep wrinkles
While botulinum toxin works well for fine expression lines, deeper static wrinkles require fillers. These can be used to smooth and fill:
- folds between the nose and mouth corners (nasolabial folds);
- tear troughs;
- frown lines between the eyebrows;
- wrinkles around the lips;
- forehead lines;
- other fine and deeper wrinkles.
Fillers can be used alone or in combination with Botox.
Our beauty specialist will recommend the most suitable solution based on your skin condition and desired result.
Beauty injections for facial contouring
Fillers are aesthetic injections that can redefine your facial contours — for instance, adding volume to areas where the skin has lost firmness or enhancing the cheekbones.
With fillers, we can:
- lift and shape the cheekbones;
- improve the jawline;
- restore facial symmetry and definition;
- correct cosmetic imperfections such as scars.
At Decus Clinic, we use a wide range of professional filler products suited for many different needs. Book a consultation with our specialist and discover some of the most advanced filler treatments in Tallinn — consultations at Decus are free of charge.
Lip fillers
In addition to enhancing facial contours, fillers can also be used to make the lips more defined and fuller. Lip enhancement doesn’t have to mean a dramatic change – sometimes, just one millilitre can make all the difference.
Lip fillers can:
- refine lip contours;
- correct asymmetry;
- add volume and plumpness;
- give narrow lips a more balanced shape;
- smooth fine lines that appear around the mouth with age.
If you’re looking for natural-looking lip fillers in Tallinn, visit Decus. With just the right amount of filler, we create results so subtle and harmonious that no one will notice you’ve had anything done — only that you look radiant and confident.

A simple and quick procedure
A filler procedure typically takes 30–60 minutes.
First, a numbing cream is applied to the treatment area and left to work for 15–20 minutes.
Once the skin is numb, the injections cause minimal discomfort — just a few light pricks. Many fillers also contain lidocaine, which further reduces pain.
Please arrive without makeup.
See the results instantly
You’ll notice visible improvement as soon as the treatment is complete. Mild redness, swelling or tenderness at the injection sites may occur but subsides quickly.
Lip fillers usually require a short 2–3 day recovery period, as swelling tends to last slightly longer in the lips. The final result becomes visible after a few days.
The duration of the effect varies individually, depending on the filler and your metabolism. On average, results last 7–15 months. To maintain the effect, the procedure can be repeated as needed.

How to choose the right filler?
At Decus Clinic, we use original fillers from several trusted manufacturers. While the mechanism of action is similar, the gels vary in composition and viscosity.
- Juvederm – one of the world’s most recognized filler brands. Several Juvederm options are available at Decus Clinic.
- Phillex – a specially developed soft filler designed for the lips.
- Radiant – a thicker Ultra filler used at Decus, ideal for areas requiring more volume and structure.
Fillers formulated specifically for lips are softer and have a slightly shorter duration, while denser gels provide longer-lasting results and are particularly suitable for clients over the age of 35.
Our specialist will determine the most suitable filler type and amount based on your goals and individual needs.

Frequently asked questions
Fillers are suitable for anyone who wants to smooth wrinkles, enhance facial contours, or refine their lips. They offer a simple and safe alternative to surgical procedures.
Both men and women can benefit from fillers, and the results look beautifully natural.
Officially, filler effects last between 6 and 18 months. However, as with many aesthetic treatments, the duration is individual. People with a faster metabolism may notice the results fading sooner, while those with a slower metabolism tend to enjoy longer-lasting effects.
An active lifestyle can also shorten the duration — for example, if you exercise frequently, the results may wear off more quickly.
Filler injections are often perceived as more painful than they are. We use a very fine needle that causes minimal discomfort.
Because a numbing cream is applied before the procedure, there’s no need to worry about pain. You may feel a few light pricks, but they’re generally mild. Many fillers also contain lidocaine, which acts as an additional anaesthetic — so after the first injection, each following one feels even easier.
In fact, some clients choose to skip the numbing cream during lip fillers because the discomfort is so minimal, which shows that the procedure is well tolerated.
Don’t worry — a natural, beautiful look is not only your goal but also your specialist’s. Every result represents their professional reputation, and no skilled specialist wants unnatural-looking lips in their portfolio.
Besides, creating an exaggerated look requires multiple sessions and a much larger amount of filler. One millilitre is never enough for a dramatic effect.
Your specialist will assess your lips carefully and always advise you if there’s a risk of overfilling.
It depends on your goals and facial structure. The best way to determine this is through a consultation. Visit us at the clinic for a discussion — consultations at Decus are free of charge.
Lip fillers cannot be done during an active cold sore, but if there are no active lesions, the procedure is possible.
We recommend taking herpes medication such as ACIC 2–3 days before the treatment. Since injections can irritate the skin, herpes may appear afterward — combined with swelling, it can be more uncomfortable than usual.
Filler injections are generally very safe. Occasionally, a needle may hit a small blood vessel, causing minor bruising. This usually disappears within a few days, but if not, contact the clinic for guidance.
It’s also important to follow your specialist’s instructions carefully. Touching or massaging the treated area too soon can cause the filler to shift and create unevenness.
Fortunately, uneven results can be corrected — either by adding a small amount of filler or, if necessary, by dissolving the product completely to restore the original appearance.
Technically, menstruation is not a contraindication. However, during this time the skin may bleed slightly more, and sensitivity can be increased, which might make the injections feel a bit less comfortable. If possible, it’s best to schedule your procedure outside of your menstrual period.
No. Fillers do not stretch the skin on the face or lips. You don’t need to worry about your skin becoming more wrinkled after the filler wears off. Once the effect fades, your skin returns to its natural state — just as it would have been without treatment.
At Decus, filler injections are performed only by trained and certified specialists, so you can feel fully confident in their expertise.
When it comes to lip fillers, each specialist has their own refined technique and aesthetic approach. When booking your appointment, our administrator can help you choose the practitioner best suited to your preferences.
